The Business Opportunities for Texans-San Antonio (BOTS-SA) is hosting on holding a special luncheon/workshop on Tuesday, October 13, from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m., in honor of Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week.
The event will feature a panel of successful salespersons from different industries who will share their best sales techniques/tips.
Yusuf Chowdhury of Online Business Owners
Yusuf Chowdhury is the founder of Online Business Owners, a digital marketing firm that is committed to helping businesses attain global reach. Roy Austin of The ILS Company
Roy Austin is the Sales Director for The ILS Company, a non-asset based third party logistics firm with operations in the US and Mexico. Roy has provided thought and sales leadership to over 30 small businesses in the last 10 years by focusing on the value of senior leadership being nice to people.
Recently, Roy led a team of 30 people through a 4 year span of 43% growth from 2009-2013, Increasing sales from 8.5 MM to 23.1MM during that time. Also in 2014, Roy’s team was formally recognized by the Austin Business Journal as the #22 fastest growing company in Austin for the large company category and was the only “low tech” service company winner amongst the technology heavy Austin based “Fast 50” award winners. Roy believes that all good sales people have a high degree of emotional intelligence and focus on selling ideas not stuff.
Al Arreola Jr. is the President/CEO of the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, previously serving as the Executive Director of his hometown chamber in Del Rio, TX. Al has a diverse career in business and public administration and strongly believes exemplary customer service is the cornerstone to building successful business practices. Al is a self-proclaimed “Mall-rat” having spent much of his young years at the mall where his father has been Manager of Zales Jewelers for the past 35 years, and his first job also being a shoe salesman at Bealls Department Store. At the South Chamber, Arreola put into action the organization’s SOUTH core values, where he insist that staff actions must be Strategic, Objective, Unified, Thorough, & Helpful. Al will discuss his experiences and share stories on the do’s and don’t in customer service.
BOTS-SA is run by a consortium/Steering Committee of SMWB professionals, non-profits, and businesses certified as SMWBs for the purpose of providing monthly educational luncheons.
