JOVEN is holdling its first Community Health Fair at its new home at 431 E. Mayfield on Friday, July 29th, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.. Free to all!
JOVEN’s Children's Garden project was chosen as one of the top ten finalists for the Spurs’ Silver & Black Give Back Team Up Challenge service learning project. Our children will build and maintain a vegetable and herb garden so that they can eventually harvest the fruits of their labor and prepare a sampling of healthy recipes for themselves, their families, and community members.
We are inviting community organizations and residents to participate in our 1st Community Health Fair to educate our children and neighbors about health and wellness. We will tour our newly-built garden and engage community members with healthy, safe, and family-friendly activities (we will have a mini-sports set-up, including a “Wii” game station set-up).
Exhibitors include Any Baby Can, SACADA, Texas A&M, UT Health Sciences Center, Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, Texas Dept. of Assistive & Rehabilitative Services, WellCare, and Wells Fargo.
