DESCRIPTION:When URBAN-15 created the Carnaval de San Anto drum and dance ensemble back in 1987\, there was nothing else like it. No one had considered bringing the Carnaval rhythms of the Bahia and the Caribbean to San Antonio. Since then\, CDSA has performed at THREE presidential inaugurations\, toured internationally in Mexico\, and become a regular at San Antonio's most iconic and memorable events. The music and dance that URBAN-15's Carnaval de San Anto brought to this city 23 years ago is now a part of the culture of San Antonio.\n\n\n\nNow is YOUR chance to be a part of the culture of San Antonio! URBAN-15's Carnaval de San Anto is looking for dancers and drummers as we get ready for our 2011 performance season and for our 24th spectacular appearance in the Fiesta Flambeau Parade! Our Pre-Audition sessions will teach you the rhythms necessary to join the group. They will be Sundays\, October 10th\, 17th\, 24th\, 31st\, and November 7th\, 14th\, and 21st at the URBAN-15 Studio (2500 S. Presa) at 3:30 pm. $5 registration fee\, $5 per class.\n\n\n\nFor more information\, call the studio at 736-1500 or email events@urban15.org.
