The new project design creates community connectivity between all three phases and potential economic development in the area. The site design includes walking trails and a park with a plaza space usable by both residents and the neighborhood at large.\n\n\n\nResident and community meetings were held to obtain input for site planning\, unit designs\, amenities and social services. SAHA worked closely with the San Antonio Independent School District on the relocation plan\, to minimize the impact to the 178 students presently living in San Juan Homes Public Housing. \n\n\n\nDemolition is already underway at the site\, with construction to begin in August 2013 and project completion planned for December 2014.
