VIDA & Valor Club share development plans

On Thursday, February 24th the South Texas Business Partnership hosted a panel discussion regarding private sector projects currently underway in South Bexar County.

Thad Rutherford, of Southstar Communities shared updates on their VIDA project at the doorstep of the dynamic Texas A&M University - San Antonio.  

VIDA is owned and developed by award-winning SouthStar Communities.  Southstar’s legacy of creating vibrant, healthy communities continues at  VIDA with an innovative and artfully delivered community that celebrates its heritage and embraces the future.

The planned VIDA community will feature homes, apartments, parks, playgrounds, a community pool and clubhouse, a regional events plaza wrapped by shops, restaurants and retail, and a planned University Health System campus. 

Dr. Michael McDowell shared updates about the Valor Club, a Gensler-designed, city-approved master planned community that will be veteran-centric; & will understand and support the core values veterans live by while addressing every stage of the transition process.  

Situated on over 200 acres of land five miles southeast of downtown San Antonio, Texas, encompassing the former Pecan Valley Country Club and Golf Course, the community will include residential units, retail outlets, veteran service organizations, and world class recreational facilities such as an entertainment venue, conference center, community center, and sports center.
