SOUTH SAN ANTONIO CHAMBER UNVEILS BOLD NEW MISSION AND LOGO

Rebrand Reflects Collective and Unified Voice for South San Antonio & South Texas Region

SAN ANTONO, TEXAS – The South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce revealed a new name and brand at its 40th annual installation gala on Friday – South Texas Business Partnership – as well as a bold new mission as the collective voice of South San Antonio and South Texas. The name change reflects the organization’s larger strategic effort to position both South San Antonio and the South Texas region as a unified and strong destination for investment. Also known as SoTx, this brand and organizational evolution also better reflects the diverse businesses and communities represented.

“It was the right time for us to align our identity with the needs of the state’s southern region,” said Al Arreola, President & CEO of SoTx. “After speaking with our regional partners, we saw an opportunity for greater collaboration and unified advocacy. So while we will continue advocating for San Antonio and specifically South San Antonio – our homebase – we will expand our mission to the southern region. We recognize that this region is an economic development engine on par with any other area around the state.”

The organization will build on its core business model focused on emphasizing leadership development, expanding access to resources, and leveraging opportunities, while working on critical issues that enhance responsible growth, increase the success of businesses, and develop more community engagement and cooperation among like minded organizations, associations, and businesses across the South Texas region.

SoTx leadership established three strategic objectives that are critical steps towards achieving the vision of the South Texas Business Partnership:

  1. To serve as vocal advocates for infrastructure investment that will support continued economic development in South Texas;
  2. To ensure our members, and all South Texas employers, have access to a workforce equipped with the necessary skills and education;
  3. To support activities, programs, and projects that help attract and retain South San Antonio and South Texas residents and businesses.

“The evolution of the South Texas Business Partnership came to us at a time when we knew our services were greatly needed by members and nonmembers, yet many did not think to come to us for help,” said Connie Gonzalez, 2022 Chairwoman of the SoTx Board of Directors. “This rebrand better represents our role, successfully captures the positive impact of our industry, positions us to maximize opportunities, and helps us attract the next generation of leaders, visionaries and businesses not only in San Antonio, but in the entire South Texas region.”

The new South Texas Business Partnership name branding includes a newly designed logo that brings energy and attention to the South Texas region. It is modern and reinforces South Texas as a priority economic development destination. The new brand identity was designed in partnership with San Antonio-based communication and marketing agency, talkStrategy.
