On behalf of our Board of Directors and Staff we want to share some highlights from the first half of 2022.  Thank you to all members that were involved in making some of these accomplishments happen.

Event Highlights
 
2022 Alamo City Electrathon - January 21, 2022, Alamodome
# of STEM teams: 13 teams (130 students)
 
2022 SoTx Golf Tournament - April 22, 2022, Mission Del Lago Golf Course
# of players: 115, highest in recent history 
 
2022 State of Brooks - June 8, 2022, Embassy Suites Brooks
# of attendees: 350, sold out event
 
40th Anniversary Installation Gala - February 11, 2022, Embassy Suites Brooks
# of attendees: 340, sold out event 
 
Feel Good Festival Health Care Heroes Appreciation Event - May 11-13, 2022
    -5 locations visited
    -835 healthcare workers received paletas
    -47 individuals utilized the salt cave session at Efora Spa

Monthly Southside Networking Breakfast 
    -May 2021: 31 to May 2022: 74 = 138.71% increase
 
City South Leadership Academy Fundraiser
    -CSLA donated $8,000 of funds raised in their annual fundraiser to victims of Uvalde School shooting.
 












 


 

 Ensure South Texas employers have access to a qualified workforce;
   -Panelist for STEER/TXOGA in Kennedy, TX regarding workforce development
   -April & May Luncheons topics emphasized workforce dev. promoted on podcast 
   -Dissemination of information of SA Works, PAC, & A&M-SA internship programs


Serve as advocates for infrastructure investment that supports economic development in South Texas;
    -City of SA Municipal Bond Program education and outreach
    -Govt Affairs cmte monitoring legislative activities at State & Fed level


Support programs, policies, and development that attract and retain residents and businesses across South San Antonio and South Texas
   Outreach to City of SA Zoning Commission in support of proposed mixed use project on Roosevelt near Mission San Jose
    -February & March Luncheon topics emphasized residential projects: VIDA, Valor Club, & Maker Spaces
